Some of the crowd it was a small turn out less than 50 people all dayThis was my third time at the rally. Unfortunately it was the most poorly attended rally yet. The rally is held on the 24th of October. No matter what day of the week that falls on there are people dedicated to show up. To lend our voices to those assembled. Our causes are varied our groups have different names our affiliations are many.We are all in agreement on at least one issue if nothing else. The United States of America has no business answering to the united nations. We are a nation of sovereign people we will never be under u.n. control.

My bud Lou ! ! !I rode to the rally with my buddy Lou. He had assembled some nifty handouts to give away to anyone who wanted more information. The handouts concisely spelled out why we should have nothing to do with the u.n. They told some of the dirty secrets that many people don't know about the u.n.

The biggest secret (or lie if you will) for me is the   "the universal declaration of human rights" this is offered as a improved version of the Bill of Rights it sounds neato keen. Its updated in to modern english so every one can understand. The one thing to understand is that there universal declaration states that it (the u.n.) grants these rights. Our constitution and bill of rights give credit where it is due both recognize our inherent, Divinely endowed rights.  The difference is huge be you Christian,  non believer or atheist there is a huge difference. Take it from the sense that if they the u.n. are the grantors of our rights. Then they may reserve the right to revoke them if it serves them (care to spin the wheel). Whether you believe in a god, no god, gods or the God. If you agree that our right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness are truly inalienable (not able to be taken away from us) you are much closer to liberty at least as close as you can get with any form of government.

At our table besides the u.n. handouts we had some of our "Modern Minuteman" newsletters, some video's and CDs to give away. The videos and CDs contained a collage of positive television news stories about the militia from the year prior. There was about 10-15 minutes of footage, this footage is available at the web site at http://www.michiganmilitia.com/wcm/multimedia/multimedia.htm .

Eventually Rick Haynes the rally leader announced the first of several speakers. The list of speakers included candidates for political office including Mr. & Mrs. Pilchak who were running for Governor and Lt. Governor. Also taking the podium was Clinton Dare, who has since been elected the interim Michigan Militia Corps Wolverines state commander. Clinton gave what I felt was a very stirring speech. He mentioned the unfortunate actions of the people he eventually replaced in the Wolverines. But laying blame was not the the thrust of his message. The heart of the message was one of unity. Rather than in fighting, working together for our common cause. He challenged those in the audience to convince people of the rightness of our cause in the way we conduct ourselves, To listen to others, then offer our ideas. Don't try and beat people up with your ideas (words)  You'll find you get much further along with less conflict. Later he challenged all in attendance to stay strong in body and mind he then spoke of his belief in Jesus as his savior, he asked that others seek Him if they want to be strong in spirit.

I am going to be there ! how about YOU ! ! ! !All in all though the turn out could have been better I think the rally was a success. I for one will be in attendance next year I took a vacation day this year and will do the same next year or even lose a days pay if need be to make my stand. What will you do, can I count on you to be there? I hope so, Please plan on attending its October 24th, 2003 its a Friday this time give yourself a three day weekend.
