The 7th annual Anti-United Nations Rally was again a success. Even though it was cold and rainy, and this year October 24th was a Tuesday, many dedicated patriots and concerned citizens came out to voice their protest of the United Nations. Some ask why we protest the United Nations. The United Nations does not support our right to defend ourselves, it does not support the ideals upon which America was founded, and the United Nations does not represent a free people, but instead supports a large central government wherein your rights are given (thus, can be taken away). The best way to understand what the United Nations represents is for you to read the United Nations Charter for yourself, then read the Constitution for the United States. You decide which form of government you would like to have.
In preparation for the Anti-U.N. Rally, several of us gathered at our regular meeting place to put together brochures, pamphlets, and handouts. This is a busy but fun time spent eating warm homemade brownies and folding and stapling pamphlets. The work, time, and energy donated by the many dedicated people put into everything we do is always welcome and definitely appreciated. These events would not happen if everyone did not pitch-in and work together.
The morning of the rally met us with an overcast, chilly, rainy outlook. This did not discourage us, as we made the trek to Lansing. Upon arrival, we set up our table and met many new people, as well as seeing familiar patriots from all over the state.
The Rally began with the Color Guard presenting the flag, then we recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The Color Guard members were from the Shiawassee County branch of the Corps Wolverines. They looked sharp and did an excellent presentation. This followed with Ron Gaydosh, State Commander for the Michigan Militia Corps Wolverines giving a short speech and welcoming everyone. There were more than a dozen speakers presenting their views on the many different aspects of being a patriot. At one point during the rally, MMCW Commander Ron Gaydosh showed his discontent for the U.N. by burning a United Nations flag.
An unofficial count estimates that over 500 people were in attendance at any given point. People milled about looking at the variety of materials available at the many tables. The Michigan Militia Training Schedule put forth by Michigan Militia, Inc. was a big hit; Frank S. personally handed it to hundreds of people and told them to show up and train! Thanks to the persistence of people like Frank, our attendance in the field will greatly improve. If you do not practice shooting on a regular basis, come out and have a good time and learn basic self-defense, gun handling techniques, marksmanship training, and civil defense. Visit our Training and Special Events section for more information.
The Anti-United Nations Rally was again a big success because more concerned citizens like you get actively involved in the animating contest of freedom. See you next time!

A Note from Rally Organizer, Rick Haynes:
I would like to personally thank each and everyone that attended the Anti-United Nations Day Rally 2000. Being it was a workday and it was raining most of the day, you stood for the support of freedom. We did accomplish a goal this year, even though the Mayor of Lansing did raise the U.N. flag on top of the City Hall; it wasn’t raised on the mall where it has been raised for 6 years. The U.N. flag is now out of sight of the people of Lansing.
Great job to you all! Now let us work to get the United Nations out of the sight of our Country.
I would also like to commend and thank the speakers of the Anti-United Nations Rally Day 2000, Thank You:
|
Clara and Joe Pilchak Mary Ann Lessner Ken Johnson Mark Forton |
Dennis James Gordon Dean Clint Dare Norman Olson |
Lee Miracle Tony Liuzzo Criton Burrows Tom Robinson |
Mark Koernke Frank Stasa Nancy Koernke Ken Haering |
And the great job of the Color Guard of the MMCW. And last but not least, my special thanks to Ron Gaydosh for being the spokes person for the rally.
Again, thank you all for the hard work and attendance because without you and your dedication, this country would have lost all that we hold so dear a long time ago, which is called freedom.
God Bless you all,
Rick Haynes
And thanks especially to Rick who organizes this event every year!
