Operation: It's warmer than last month!

Operation Warmer than Last Month, saw several militia members arriving at 08:00 hours, to the balmy mid 20's degree temperature of Camp Stasa. This was a welcome relief from the extreme frigid temperatures of last month. Finding that the road back to the range was blocked off by snow, they walked the crunchy-slushy way. Once there, they found two other members already waiting. One was all the way from Georgia. Several others would be arriving shortly.

Knowing a marksmanship class was to start promptly at 09:30, we had some time for a new guy "Wopper,"to zero in his newly scoped AK. Within three rounds he was satisfied with where he was hitting. It seems the latest batches of AK' s made by the unpredictable Century arms seem to be fairly accurate. Of course having practiced marksmanship skills is still imperative!

Staying on schedule, we began the classroom discussion of shooting with improvised loop slings. The excellent training was given by Bishop. He then took us to the range, where we did several rounds of dry fire. Finally we live fired to good results. This is a method that needs to be practiced regularly. Fastmover and Pioneer Tank were on duty assisting.

Afterwards, the two new arrivals, wanting to be level 1 qualified, started their two mile walk. Also, one other level 2 member decided to take the Pioneer challenge. Jester was there to sign him on.

In summary; the weather was nothing to be bragged about...there was a dollar cost to being there...some people might think they were put on some government list ( some people I know think joining the NRA puts them on this same list)……………meaningful training took place for a few of us!
