OPERATION: AMBUSH ZONE
November 5th 2005
Unseasonably warm for November, A great morning to be hunting, Also a great morning to be training.
What was expected to be a small turn out ended up with a good showing as patriots from all over south-east Michigan and northern Ohio arrived at Camp Stasa to sharpen their skills and learn new ones.

Fall in Michigan, Very colorful.
Weapon M was unable to adjust his work schedule, But there was no shortage of people willing and able to step up and take charge. This demonstrates our flexibility.
Two goals for the day were Marksmanship ( Qualifying levels and brushing up/ adjustments ) and reacting to an ambush.
On the Marksmanship front, BR and Mak 9 took control of the range.

In the woods, Chuckwagon split the group into two teams with a pioneer at the head of both of them. The small team was set loose to stage an ambush . The large group would then patrol and react when engaged.

Warning: Ambush next 200 meters

Debriefing the teams
This exercise really emphasizes a whole host of skills, stealth movement, sound discipline, diversion, observation, and patience. Also several deceptions were employed: a decoy team, changing radio frequencies, even a "non-combatant" carrying a rifle were all used to try to flush out the ambush. In the end, we were able to discuss what worked, what didn't and what else could have been done.
Chili and Sausage were prepared in Chuckwagon's Oh-so-special way, and the new folks fit right in. We really draw a large cross-section of people. One car even had Washington license plates.
Next up, December 3rd. Probably be colder and wetter. But, As the Pioneers say... "We Can Take It!"
Come out, Meet your neighbors, Eat some food, and learn some skills which may save your life.
