The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia exists to help you, the average citizen, become more able to support, uphold, and defend The Constitution for The United States, and The Constitution for The State of Michigan.
Toward this end, we train, educate, and inform as many people as possible. In addition to training, we publish a newsletter, and have established a presence on the internet.
We also sponsor/co-sponsor an annual public shooting event, the Saturday before Patriot's Day, currently called "The Homeland Defense Field Day and Gear Swap" at Camp Stasa. This year it will be held on Saturday, April 17th at 10AM. This is a fun event, with participation from more people each year. (Okay, BR, this IS a militia function because 1. People learn to shoot. 2. People meet more people who can share their field and training experience. 3. We can learn and practice fun field engineering skills.)
Aaaaand, we also put out an annual calendar featuring lovely volunteer models (similar to the "Militia Babe Gallery" ). If you would like to participate in the 2007 calendar, or be in the "Militia Babe Gallery", feel free to contact Lee or Frank L..
We try to make an effort at reaching out to as many citizens as possible. We feel that to further promulgate the concept of an armed, informed, and educated citizenry, is to better "secure the blessings of liberty."
Participation in militia activities is always encouraged, but to be an actual member of The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, you have to qualify as Level one. We have to have standards, and we are proud to have been setting the Level one standard since May 1997.

Monthly public meetings of The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia occur on the FIRST Wednesday of every month.
Please be advised if you have any questions regarding us or the meeting, Direct them to Lee or Frank L.. The fine folks , Owner's and staff of the restaurant, are simply providing us with their service and the use of the banquet room. Also, we work hard to project a positive image, and to try and offset the overwhelming negative press to which we have been subjected. All of this is ruined when people who attend the public meetings are stingy or rude toward the wait staff. We want people to see "the militia" as a positive, uplifting thing, not a bunch of mean cheapskates.
We will announce the most current information about training, current events, and other things that pertain to an armed, informed society. Sometimes, we have guest speakers.
