Operation Femme Fatale

"Bolt Action Day"

What a Beautiful day it turned out to be June 14th. It started off cold and dreary but warmed up enough that for a woman who doesn't sweat was drenched (yuck!).

3 people showed up with their Bolt Action Rifles. The new guy who qualified ("Doc" from Oakland County), Wagon Wheel & BR. Of course there was the usual AR's (cant forget those) and a new toy, a AK-47 which belonged to Mark from Wayne County. Yes Mark too is another new person and is setting his goal for qualification for next training. (Lack of ammo and better knowledge)

We did our usual gear check to make sure everyone had everything they needed. We did some D&C (drill and ceremony) in which I really sucked at (laffs). But with further training I'll be good at it. Goes to show practice practice practice. We also performed the 3 man fire team, two teams of 3 and our HQ. We did our 4 pin shoot (Which btw I tied with another member of our brigade who will remain nameless but rest assured it wasn't L.W) WOOHOO for us 68 seconds ain't to shabby! We also did some off hand shooting which I thought for sure I would suck at BUT I shot less then 10 rounds and got em all down. YES!!

Off hand shooting for those who are unfamiliar is firing with the hand you don't normally use.

After all this we decided to have a 3 man ambush team and a 5 man ambushees team. We gave the ambushers 5 minutes or so to hide and then we did sneaky stuff to try to sneak up behind them. ( the initial goal was to come along the road blah blah blah  well that's boring so we went trekking through the woods). This was alot of fun. Our hiders hid well and only got one of our ambushees (BANG BANG). We all decided it was time to head back to camp.

Sherry and I decided to go ahead and let the men talk about what was just performed. They all thought Sherry and I had "girl" things to do  (Pfffft little did they know).

Well let me just say this,Sherry and I decided to duck behind some cover and await our prey. (isn't that ironic WOMEN hunting MEN  hehehe) They had no clue we were missing until Wagon Wheel came around the bend. You should have seen the panic in his eyes (hehehe) especially when he was trying to get the attention of the other gentlemen. All of the others were clueless to what was going on except for Mike. He knew something was up but had no idea where us femmes were hiding. To say the least, if our weapons would have been loaded they all would have been hating life.(LAFFS)

So all and all it was a great day. Like I've said before:

GIRLS RULE AND MEN DROOL!!!!

Training wrapped up around 8pm and we sat by the fire and the boys talked politics (gag! isn't it impolite to talk politics with women present?) We cooked up some steak and taters and had it served by 11pm. Everyone got a chunk of cow (steak for those who are more elaborate). Some ate with fingers but OH WELL we all know where are fingers have been. (wrapped around triggers you sick minded freaks!) We resumed conversation and it took a nice turn into firearms.

What a great end to a gorgeous day. To bad you missed it! Hope to see ya's next training!!

CAMP OUT!!

Through out the day we had discussed a weekend event (children and spouses optional but are always welcome)

August 3&4th is gonna be great. Arrive Friday night at your leisure, set up camp. Don't forget to bring what ya wanna cook also. This helps keep down costs and stuff so do your part guys! We will train Saturday and hopefully do some mapping and stuff we don't usually do. Believe it or not there are alot of people who don't know how to read a map (I'm not gonna say anything about me not knowing just point me in the right direction K?) We will pull out Sunday after lunch or closer to dinner not sure yet but you may leave at anytime you like on Sunday. NO EXCUSES! Come on out!!  You have been given plenty of advanced warning to get those days off if you decide to join us.
