CCW Rights and the militia

Why is the CCW law a militia concern?

Every citizen who is able, should always be as prepared as possible to defend his or her life, community, and state. A concealed weapon, always carried upon one's person, enhances this readiness.
A concealed handgun may enable a citizen to reach more effective militia-type weapons. Many of the principles involved in CCW training also apply to other firearms training, especially safe handling of firearms. The ability of a free citizen to defend life and limb of oneself or others, with modern, effective technology, is the basic core function of militia activity.
Possession of a CCW permit makes this practical and legal outside one's own property, on an everyday basis. Extending the real ability to shoot back makes us all more free and independent of the state, with less need for constrictive laws, or intrusive police activity after a crime has already occurred. As time goes on, this will become apparent to the general public, with consequent benefits for everyone.
